Campaign for Uyghurs extends greetings to the Muslim brothers and sisters around the world and wishes each one a Happy Eid. On this special day in the midst of these uncertain times with Covid-19, may your feast of the sacrifice be blessed with sweet fellowship with family and relatives and safety for all. We ask that on this day you also remember the suffering Uyghur brothers and sisters as members of the poor and needy in the global community, and also remember what the Chinese government’s totalitarian suppression and disinformation have brought to the world and caused with the virus.
Just as Abraham exhibited trust and great faith in the face of what had been asked of him, may each of us seek to face evils in our world with courage as we seek to submit to God’s will. May we remember what it means to be righteous. As in the Holy Quran, “And incline not toward those who do wrong, lest the Fire should touch you, and you have no protectors other than Allah, nor you would then be helped.” (Holy Quran 11:113).
On this special day, we call on the Muslim community to act with conviction and true righteousness to recognize the oppression and suffering of the Uyghur Muslims, and to hold their leaders accountable to intervene and end Muslim complicity in the atheistic Chinese regime’s crimes against them. To choose to profit from the hand of an oppressor who does not share Islamic values and has waged war on Islam is surely evil in the sight of Allah.
Campaign for Uyghurs Executive Director Rushan Abbas stated on the occasion of this holiday, “China’s genocide against Uyghurs and war on Islam is a mere foreshadowing of what will happen to the rest of the world if this continues unchecked. It is imperative we stand united against the Chinese despot that deems diversity, culture, and religion an enemy. It is those things that make us unique.”
Ms. Abbas added, “This Eid al-Adha I ask that that our Muslim brothers and sisters to keep Uyghurs in your prayers. Another Islamic holiday has passed that Uyghurs are unable to happily celebrate. How can they? With millions locked up in dark cells, abused, beaten, brainwashed, killed, and millions more enslaved. We must fight together against this genocide and ensure what has happened to Uyghurs truly never happens again…”
May we follow the example of Abraham and grow in the sacrificial love of God, as we beseech the Islamic community that they are not inclined towards governments who do wrong against Him and His followers.
We wish each and every follower of Islam continued growth in righteousness, and humbly ask for your remembrance of the Uyghur brothers and sisters on this special occasion. Eid Mubarak!
